Declaration of Independence
In Colonial times... almost everyone knew how to make things and grow things. Colonists were conservationists by nature, and recycling was a way of life. Frugality and responsibility were the rule of the day....in a word, they were much more independent. They also supported each other and understood the importance of community businesses, sustainable family farm agriculture, and growing their manufacturing base in maintaining their engines of commerce, security, and economic growth.
The New American Colonies program is a grass roots effort to establish a new attitude of self reliance and independence while developing, through education, information, and opportunities for personal involvement, "Colonies" of responsible individuals interested in recapturing some of the values of an earlier time...curiosity, hard work, inventiveness, commitment, ethical conduct, patriotism, and a passion to serve and live usefully.
